In Minnesota, child care providers must meet standards for caregiver qualifications, physical environment, behavior guidance, required policies, and records, activities, and equipment. These standards are dictated and monitored by licensing.
Child care centers are licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services and can be reached at (651) 431-6500.
Family child care programs are licensed by each county. Contact your local county licensor for more information on licensing requirements and the application process.
